My Name is Coco and I'm a Vegan

The time has come where I'm going to become a vegan for a week!

To jazz things up a little, i'll be embarking on this endeavour with my flatmate Matt, who is a self-confessed meat-a-tarian...lets put things into perspective...he eats steak for breakfast. I am also an avid meat eater and actually couldnt imagine a life without it

This week however, we'll be living an animal product free life. Nothing. Nada. Nein. We want to see, why is it that Vegans do what they do & can it really make a change to your daily life?

We'll be voice blogging our experiences to make a little documentary which will then be aired on The Third Degree at 3am on a Sunday some time in the not-to-distant future!

If you have any suggestions, hints & tips or if you fancy a little discussion about veganism then hit me up using the comment section below!

Wish us luck!!!

All right ghetto supastars!!!

Apologies for the lack of update on this here blog, I've been a very busy bee recently because belive it or not, at Uni you have to do work! :O Shock horror I know, but as an English student I've had my nose firmly in a book for the past couple of weeks (oh and been to amsterdam....). Only to add to my woes, I also managed to spill a pint of water on my poor laptop so subsequently I have been removed from the world & plunged into turmoil as the laptop is now rather kapput. However it's gone to laptop hospital so I should be back on track by next week!! (Oh if you're wondering how I'm communicating this info now, you can thank the library computer room, a place of joy & fresh air!!....or not.)

It's nearly the end!

Well, well, well...what a week it has been!

I have successfully managed (to my surprise) to navigate my way through the week without the aid of facebook, my once primary source of social information!

In 2 and 1/2 hrs time, i'll be logging in again to officially end my week of abstinence (and to see how much my flatmates have abused my page in my absence).

Then this week I'll be editing the audio blog into a sweet 15min piece (well, near enough) to air as part of my FIRST EVER show called The Third Degree which will be on at 3pm on Sunday. It'll then be followed by 45mins of chill-out 'choons' because im a firm believer in Sunday relaxation! Im hoping to prick your ears a little that show though as all the songs will be from well known adverts and ill be asking you to 'name that advert!' If your good enough there may even be a little prize in it for you!

Please give me some feedback on the show as I'd love to hear what you think as i aim to please...whayyy! But be nice kids, remember it is my first documentary and show so it aint gonna be no gold standard ya get me...

Also, please use this space to air your views about this growing social networking era that we live in as I think it makes for good conversation yes? I can then talk about your ideas to sum up the challenge on the following weeks show.

My next challenge will be a week of veganism so again get in touch if you have any tips or inside info as I think I'll be needing all the help I can get for that one! It seems as if being a vegan isnt just about the food you eat. It covers all aspects of your life from the clothes you wear to the products you wash your bits with!

Once more, if you want to know how I got on this week, then tune in at 3pm on Sunday.

Over and out lovers,

Coco x

In the beginning...

All right my lovely jubblies!

I'm Coco, and as part of the speech team at ((URY)) this year i'll be throwing myself into different 'challenges' for a week to see how much these changes affect my lifestyle. During that week I'll be keeping an audio diary to track my progress which i'll then compile into a luscious little 15 minute feature which you can catch every 3rd Sunday at 3 o'clock only on ((URY)).

* I thought after this seasons festivities it would be fitting to explore the art of socialising. So this week i've decided that i'll be, 'Living Without a Face'. Thankfully it's not as macabre as it sounds... i'm challenging myself not to go on facebook for a week.

Sounds easy enough, but not when you're a dirty little facebook harlot like myself who's used to having a good ol' nose on it at least 6 times a day. I think its safe to say I'm a bit of an addict so it looks like i'll be going cold turkey...oh dear.

Keep an eye (and an ear) out to see how I'm coping! *
